Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the market held?

The market takes place at our flower farm on Killan Road in Dunvant (SA2 7US).

How do I get there?

We have parking available on-site. The entrance to our farm is on Killan Road, opposite Killan Fawr Garden Centre. On-street parking is also available in Dunvant.

You can access the farm by foot via the pedestrian entrance on Priors Crescent, next to Pen y Fro Primary School.

Bicycle racks are available on-site if you cycle.

The 21, 22 and 116 buses also stop nearby.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes you can, but they must be kept on a lead and out of our flower beds all times. Please also ensure you pick up after them.

Are there toilets on-site?

Yes, we have a toilet on-site which is also wheelchair accessible.

Can I pay with cash and card?

Yes, the majority of traders accept both cash and card payments.

What about disability access?

We have disabled parking available on-site. Our farm is partially accessible by wheelchair. This includes some pathways, toilets and our sensory garden. The ground in other areas of the farm can be uneven in places and is a mixture of grass, woodchip and hardcore.

What stalls can I expect to find?

There will be a mix of local businesses selling products and produce such as flowers, fresh food, coffee, crafts, gifts and clothing. We aim to change the businesses each month so you can discover a wide range of locally produced goods.

Will the farm be muddy?

It’s possible that the ground may be muddy and uneven in places. We recommend that you wear appropriate footwear, such as trainers, walking boots or wellies and that you take care when walking around the site.

What happens if it rains?

The market will go ahead unless the weather turns stormy or very windy. All of the stalls will be under cover and we will have indoor seating areas where you can sit to enjoy some food and drink.

Trader Information

Who can apply?

Our market is open to small businesses across Swansea and South Wales who give consideration to the social and environmental impact of their products or produce. For example, using ethically sourced, natural materials or ingredients; small batch production to reduce waste; removing single-use plastic etc.

How much does it cost?

Our 2026 pitch fee is £30 or 'pay what you can' for those unable to afford the full amount. This fee is paid up front to secure your place at the market.

Do I need to bring my own gazebo?

Ideally, yes. We do have a number of spaces and covered pitches, however, these are often heavily oversubscribed. If you have your own gazebo, this may increase your chance of securing a place at the market.

If you request the use of a covered pitch, specific locations of that pitch on our farm may not be requested.

All traders must bring their own tables or display stand.

How to I apply?

Due to the volume of applications already received this season, we are now closed to new applications. Later in the summer we will release the application form for our winter market.

My products need specific conditions, what do I do?

It is your responsibility as a trader to ensure that your products have the correct conditions (e.g. temperature, display etc.) If, for example, you require your products to be out of the reach of sunlight all day, you must bring your own gazebo and ensure you have the appropriate cover for your stall.

Is there electricity?

We have a handful of electric points available around our farm. There is an additional fee for these pitches.

How do you allocate places?

Our markets are carefully curated to ensure there is a balance of different stalls at each event. This is because we want there to be a range of different product options for customers and also to avoid there being too many stalls in the same product category.

Is there WiFi?

Yes, WiFi is available on-site.

Why haven't I been allocated a place?

We receive a high number of applications every year, making it difficult to allocate places to everyone. If we can't offer you a place, this isn't a criticism of you or your product.

Will I be allocated all of the dates I have applied for?

Due to the number of applications we receive, we may not be able to allocate all of the dates you have applied for.

What's your cancellation policy?

If you are no longer able to attend the market, please let us know at least 5 working days.in advance so that we can find a replacement. We will not be able to refund your deposit if you let us know later than this. If you cancel more than 5 working days in advance and have already paid, you will be refunded minus a £5 admin fee.

We are planning for there to be glorious sunshine on the day, however if it is due to rain, the market will still go ahead unless the weather turns stormy. In that scenario, we would need to cancel the market for health and safety reasons. If that were to happen, we will either offer you a place on an alternative date or we will refund your deposit in full.

I'm a food trader, do I need a food hygiene rating?

Yes, all food traders must display their food hygiene rating certificate on their stall. This is required by Swansea Council.

Do I need my own public liability insurance?

Yes, all traders must have their own public liability insurance in place. Petallica Flower Farm will not be liable for any injury, adverse reaction or any other impact caused to customers by the traders products or stall.

Can I park on-site?

Yes, there are parking spaces allocated for traders. Once you have unloaded your products, you will be shown where you can park. Please note that unless you are operating out of your vehicle during the market e.g. coffee van, it must be moved to the trader car park.

What time can I set up from?

The market opens to customers at 10am, so traders can arrive to set up from 8:30am. Please arrive no later than 9:30am. The market closes at 2pm. Unless you have completely sold out, we ask that you stay until the end. Trader cars are parked end to end, so it may be difficult to leave early.

How will you contact me?

We will contact you via the email address you submitted when applying. Please ensure that you check your junk folder if you haven't heard from us.

What about health and safety?

You are responsible for your own health and safety and that of your staff and customers. Please ensure you have a risk assessment in place. Keep any cooking appliances away from pitch coverings or any other flammable materials. All of your equipment needs to be made fit for purpose.

Petallica Flower Farm has responsibility for general health and safety on site. As a working farm, please ensure care is taken when walking around the site as the ground can be uneven in places. Flowers and foliage must not be picked.

Access to our flower fields, polytunnels and paddocks is strictly prohibited unless otherwise instructed. Any tools or equipment found on-site must not be touched.
